SD card screwed up on my Nexus One

Argh... tried ddrescue and just dd, use autopsy/sleuthkit to figure out the partition offset by bytes, tried mounting the recovered image file, no luck. keep on getting this crap:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

I am glad I did a backup, but not so glad that it's been a while (1 month+)...
